The original Raging Grannies started in 1987 in Victoria, British Columbia

The (San Francisco) Peninsula Raging Grannies began in 2001 in Palo Alto, and changed the name to RAGING GRANNIES ACTION LEAGUE in 2005

Raging Grannies strive:

• to lift others’ voices and give the perspective of our generation where appropriate
• to be non-violent in all activities
• to shock with unladylike antics
• to be independent of any other organization
• to use street theater, humor, satire and props to get our message across: world peace, feminist values, racial justice, immigrant rights, and equal rights for all
